NORTH
Places of interest on Fuerteventura
The North Shore is known for its great surf spots and connects El Cotillo and Corralejo. Here are some great natural sights on Fuerteventura
From El Cotillo we show you the beauty of the north and east coast. Great excursion tips, beautiful gems, best surf spots in the spotfinder, sights and activities such as surfing, kitesurfing, windsurfing, hiking, beach walks, etc. We hope you enjoy our tips here in the Fuerteventura travel guide!
WEST
The sights on Fuerteventura
We start from our and perhaps your home by the sea here on Fuerteventura, in El Cotillo, and “slowly” work our way south along the west coast!
Beautiful and secluded beaches, pure nature, green valleys and riverbeds, sand dunes and rock formations, volcanoes and one or two cultural sights await you on Fuerteventura.
Port of El Cotillo
Our small harbor below the Toston. The fishermen go out to sea here every day and you can see them mooring and unmooring in their small boats. A lovely place to linger and immerse yourself in another world. You should stay away from the harbor wall when the waves are big.
El Cotillo surfing beach
A super beautiful beach with yellowish sand and turquoise water. Here you can swim, surf, kitesurf, build sandcastles with the kids and really switch off. You can take great photos of the cliffs on the surfer’s beach in El Cotillo.
Barranco de Los Enamorados
One of the most beautiful hikes on Fuerteventura can be found in a dried-up riverbed: the so-called “Barranco de los Enamorados” (Gorge of Lovers). We recommend that you bring a little time with you and drive to the Barranco by car.
Esquinzo beach
A beautiful bay below the cliffs near El Cotillo. Yellowish sand interspersed with rocks and turquoise water. You can spend a great day on the beach here and watch the surfers. There are unique photo opportunities from the cliff.
Playa de la Escalera - The stepped beach
A beautiful, sometimes very secluded bay about 5 km from El Cotillo. The yellowish sand provides a great contrast to the turquoise water. You can spend a great day on the beach here and take great photos after climbing the steep steps.
Center
Places of interest on Fuerteventura
Our sights on Fuerteventura in the center of the island offer you a great mix of culture and nature. Let yourself drift and explore the island at your own pace.
East
Sights of Fuerteventura
The east stretches from Corralejo via Puerto del Rosario down to Jandia in the south. Cities, culture, beautiful beaches, art and music as well as shopping and relaxation are all on offer here.
The east of the island stands out from the other regions with its diverse cultural and natural sights and offers plenty to discover.
The dunes of Corralejo
The unique dune landscape of Corralejo is somewhat reminiscent of a desert. Sand dunes with their unique flora and fauna border on turquoise water. An impressive natural spectacle and particularly suitable for taking great photos. The contrasts here speak for themselves.
South
Discover sights on Fuerteventura
The south of the island from La Pared in the west to Punta del Tigre and Playa Cofete in the east offers plenty of variety, from hotel castles to secluded beaches.
Hotel chains or paradisiacal, secluded but sometimes very rugged beaches – it’s up to you to decide which sights you want to explore on Fuerteventura?
